JAMB HAS OFFICIALLY SET ASIDE JUNE 13 FOR 2026 JAMB MOP UP EXAMS

JAMB HAS OFFICIALLY ANNOUNCED 2026 UTME MOP-UP EXAMINATION  WILL TAKE PLACE ON JUNE 13. URGENT MUST READ

Breaking news for all Nigerian candidates: The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has officially released the date for the 2026 UTME mop-up examination. According to the latest bulletin from the board’s registrar, the exam will hold on June 13, 2026. This announcement is a lifeline for candidates who encountered technical problems, biometric failures, or centre-related issues during the main UTME. If you want to secure your admission into any university, polytechnic, or college of education this year, this post is your complete guide. Do not scroll past – your entire education future could depend on it.

What Is the JAMB Mop-Up Exam and Why Does It Exist?

The mop-up exam is not a retake for candidates who performed poorly. It is a special supplementary examination designed by JAMB to ensure fairness. Every year, thousands of candidates face glitches: power outages, faulty biometric machines, system crashes, or even network failures at their CBT centres. Without the mop-up, these candidates would lose their entire year.

JAMB has officially stated that only candidates who were genuinely unable to take the main exam due to verified technical issues qualify for the mop-up. The board uses CCTV footage, centre reports, and biometric logs to determine eligibility. If you are invited, consider yourself fortunate – but you must act fast. Missing the June 13 mop-up means you will not be able to proceed with admission processing. You also cannot obtain your JAMB original results without sitting for either the main or mop-up exam.

WHO IS ELIGIBLE FOR THE JUNE 13 MOP UP EXAM
Many candidates will ask: “Can I just show up on June 13?” The answer is NO. JAMB will publish a final list of eligible candidates on their official website and via each candidate’s profile on the JAMB portal. You are likely eligible if:

1. Your biometric verification failed repeatedly despite correct fingerprints.
2. The CBT centre system shut down and you could not complete your test.
3. JAMB sent you an SMS or email inviting you for the mop-up.
4. Your centre reported a major technical incident on your scheduled day.

Warning: Do not fall for scammers. No one can “buy” a mop-up slot. JAMB does not charge extra for the mop-up. If you were not invited, the board will not allow you into the hall. Instead, focus on preparing for the next UTME cycle.

To confirm your status, log into your JAMB profile (e-facility) using your registration number. Look for a notification titled “Mop-up Examination Invitation.” If you see it, print the slip immediately. If you do not, call JAMB’s support line or visit any accredited CBT centre for verification.

HOW TO PREPARE FOR THE 2026 UTME MOP-UP EXAM IN 7 DAYS

You have limited time between the announcement (likely late May) and the exam date (June 13). Follow this 7-day crash plan to maximize your score:

Day 1–3: Revise Core Subjects

Focus on the four subjects you registered for. Use the official JAMB syllabus and past questions from the last five years. Pay special attention to topics that frequently appear – English (lexis, structure, comprehension), Mathematics (inequalities, probability), and science/arts subjects.

Day 4–5: Practice CBT Timed Tests

Simulate the real exam. Use CBT practice apps or free online platforms. Give yourself exactly 2 hours to answer 180 questions. This builds speed and reduces anxiety.

Day 6: Rest and Review Weak Areas

Do not cram. Instead, go over your mistakes from practice tests. Watch YouTube tutorials for difficult topics.

Day 7 (June 12): Light Review and Early Sleep

Stop studying by 6pm. Pack your JAMB printout, valid ID, and a clear water bottle. Set multiple alarms for 4:30am (if your exam is morning). Check your centre location using Google Maps.

Viral Tip: Share this 7-day plan with any candidate you know who is invited. Many fail the mop-up because they assume it’s “easier” – it’s not. The difficulty is identical to the main UTME.

Critical Steps to Get Your JAMB Original Results After the Mop-Up

Once you write the exam on June 13, the next urgent task is to obtain your JAMB original results. Without this document, you cannot participate in post-UTME, change your course/institution, or secure admission. Here is the exact step-by-step process:

1. Wait 24 to 48 hours – JAMB needs time to mark the mop-up scripts. Results are usually released faster than the main exam because fewer candidates sit for it.
2. Send RESULT to 55019 – Use the same phone number you registered with. You will receive a text with your total score (e.g., “You scored 237”). Keep this SMS as proof.
3. Print your result slip – Go to any JAMB-accredited CBT centre or cybercafé. Pay a small printing fee (usually ₦500–₦1,000). The slip will show your subject-by-subject performance.
4. Request the official e-slip – Log into your JAMB e-facility and pay ₦3,500 (subject to change) to download the final, colour-printed JAMB original results slip. This version has a QR code that universities scan for verification.
5. Check for discrepancies – Compare your SMS score with the printed slip. If there is a mismatch, report to JAMB immediately. Do not wait.

Warning: There are fake websites claiming to “upgrade” results. No one can change your JAMB original results – the system is encrypted. If you see such ads, report them. Protect your education from fraudsters.

How the Mop-Up Affects Your Admission Chances for 2026

Many candidates worry that writing the mop-up puts them at a disadvantage. That is false. Universities do not see whether you wrote the main or mop-up exam. They only see your score on your JAMB original results. Therefore, your admission chances depend entirely on:

· Your UTME score (higher is better).
· Your post-UTME screening performance.
· Your O’level results (WAEC, NECO, or NABTEB).
· The cut-off mark of your chosen institution and course.

That said, mop-up candidates often receive their results later than main exam candidates. This can delay post-UTME registration if a university sets an early deadline. Here is how to protect yourself:

· Immediately after the mop-up, monitor your email and JAMB portal daily.
· Print your result slip the moment it is released – even before the official e-slip is ready.
· Contact your chosen university’s admission office to explain your mop-up status. Many have a separate window for such candidates.

Also, note that admission quotas are not reduced for mop-up candidates. You compete on the same merit as everyone else. So do not panic – just focus on scoring high.

---

COMMON MISTAKES THAT RUIN MOP-UP CANDIDATES (AVOID THESE)

Based on past mop-up exercises (2023, 2024, 2025), hundreds of candidates lose their slots due to simple errors. Do not become a statistic:

❌ Mistake #1: Arriving Late

Mop-up exams start promptly. If you arrive 30 minutes after the scheduled time, you will be locked out – no exceptions. Solution: Reach your centre by 7am, even if your exam is at 10am.

❌ Mistake #2: Forgetting Your Registration Printout

JAMB requires the green slip or a printed copy of your registration. Without it, you cannot enter the hall. Solution: Print three copies and keep one in your bag, one with a friend, and one at home.

❌ Mistake #3: Bringing Prohibited Items

Phones, smartwatches, calculators, earpieces, and even pens are banned. Security will confiscate them. Solution: Leave everything except your ID, printout, and a transparent water bottle.

❌ Mistake #4: Ignoring Biometric Warnings

If your fingerprint fails at the mop-up, report immediately to the centre supervisor. Do not accept any “unofficial” solution. Solution: Moisturize your fingers and clean the scanner gently.

Share this list with someone who needs it – you could save their admission.

What If You Miss the June 13 Mop-Up? (Last Chance Options)

Missing the mop-up without a valid reason is fatal for your 2026 admission. JAMB does not offer a second mop-up. However, there are two very narrow lifelines:

1. Medical emergency with proof – If you are hospitalized on June 13, you can submit a hospital report and police extract to JAMB within 7 days. The board may allow a special one-off test, but this is extremely rare.
2. Centre closure – If your designated mop-up centre shuts down on exam day (e.g., security issue), JAMB will reschedule you. Monitor the board’s Twitter handle (@JAMBHQ) for real-time updates.

Otherwise, you must wait for the 2027 UTME. That means a full year of lost education progress. So treat June 13 as a non-negotiable date. Book transportation, inform your parents, and even sleep near your centre if it is far from home.

FINAL CHECKLIST: Everything You Need Before June 13

Print this checklist and tick each item:

· Confirmed your eligibility on the JAMB portal.
· Printed your mop-up examination slip (with your picture and centre details).
· Studied using past questions and CBT practice.
· Arranged transport to the centre (budget extra time for traffic).
· Packed a clear water bottle, your slip, and a valid ID (school ID, national ID, or passport).
· Told a family member or friend your exam schedule.
· Charged your phone fully (but you will leave it outside the hall).
· Prayed/meditated to stay calm.

CONCLUSION
JAMB has officially done its part by announcing the mop-up date. Now the ball is in your court. Do not let technical glitches or procrastination steal your admission. The June 13, 2026 UTME mop-up examination is your golden chance to get back on track. Secure your JAMB original results immediately after the exam, and dive into post-UTME preparation without delay.

Remember: Thousands of Nigerian students miss admission every year not because they are unintelligent, but because they ignore deadlines or believe false rumours. You are better than that. Share this article with every candidate you know – let’s help each other succeed. Bookmark this page, set a reminder, and go crush that mop-up exam.

Your 2026 education journey starts now. See you at the top.

JAMB RELEASES 279 RESULTS THAT WERE UNDER INVESTIGATION

JAMB Releases Withheld Results Which Were Under Investigation

The wait is finally over. The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has officially released 279 UTME results that were previously withheld for investigation over suspected examination malpractice during the 2026 UTME. This development brings relief to hundreds of anxious candidates awaiting their fate.

According to an official statement issued on Thursday by JAMB’s Public Communication Adviser, Dr. Fabian Benjamin, the release follows ongoing investigations into cases of suspected examination malpractice. Importantly, this release is in addition to results the Board had already made public.

Good News: 279 JAMB Results Freed After Investigation

After a detailed and painstaking review of cases flagged during and after the examination process, JAMB has freed 279 results that had been held back pending further scrutiny. The Board disclosed that its decision came after investigators found no prima facie evidence linking the affected candidates to examination malpractice.

JAMB noted that where evidence of wrongdoing was clearly established, results were outright cancelled. But for those found innocent of any infraction during the JAMB original results verification process, the scores have now been released.

Results Still Under Review — What Affected Candidates Must Know

Despite the good news, JAMB has made it clear that investigations are still ongoing for results from examination centres flagged by its live monitoring team for suspicious activities, as well as centres linked to adverse reports. Such results will remain withheld until the conclusion of the review process.

The Board warned that any candidate found culpable after further investigation will have their result cancelled in line with its examination regulations. Candidates who are still unable to access their scores should not panic, but rather stay informed through official channels.

How to Check If Your Result Has Been Released

If you are among the affected candidates, JAMB has provided a straightforward way to confirm whether your result has now been released. Simply send “UTMERESULT” to either 55019 or 66019 using the same phone number you used during your JAMB registration.

Candidates are also advised to regularly check the official JAMB result-checking portal using their registration details. Avoid third-party websites that mimic JAMB’s portal, as these can compromise your personal information.

What This Means for Your Admission and Education Journey

The release of these results comes at a critical time as the admission process for the 2026/2027 academic session is already in motion. JAMB has retained 150 as the cut-off mark for university admission and 100 for polytechnics.

For candidates whose results have now been cleared, your education plans can proceed without further delay. Ensure you promptly check your scores, upload your O’Level results on JAMB CAPS, and monitor the admission portal closely. Meanwhile, candidates still awaiting outcome reviews are encouraged to be patient and trust that JAMB is committed to fairness and the integrity of the nation’s tertiary admission process.

Stay tuned for further updates as JAMB continues its integrity checks across all examination centres nationwide.

JAMB ACTIVATES PORTAL FOR UPLOADING OF O'LEVEL RESULTS (WAEC,NECO&GCE)

JAMB ACTIVATES UPLOAD OF O'LEVEL RESULTS (WAEC, NECO, GCE)

The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has officially activated the portal for the upload of O’level results for the 2026 admission cycle. Candidates who sat for WAEC, NECO, or GCE can now upload their results directly to the JAMB system. This long-awaited activation marks a critical step toward securing admission into Nigerian universities, polytechnics, and colleges of education.
If you’re yet to upload your results, now is the time to act. Delaying this process could jeopardize your chances of gaining admission this year.

Why Uploading Your O’level Results Matters

Your O’level results (whether WAEC, NECO, or GCE) are non-negotiable for admission. Without them, institutions cannot verify your eligibility. When you upload your results to the JAMB portal, they become part of your JAMB original results profile, which schools use to screen candidates. Missing this step means your jamb result will be considered incomplete, no matter how high your score.

For 2026, JAMB has reiterated that only candidates whose O’level results are successfully uploaded and matched with their subject combinations will be considered for admission.

Step-by-Step Guide to Upload Your Results

Follow these simple steps to complete your results upload:

1. Visit an accredited JAMB CBT centre or a JAMB office (do not use unauthorized cyber cafes).
2. Provide your registration number and the examination body (WAEC, NECO, or GCE).
3. Verify your result using the scratch card or result checker pin.
4. JAMB will automatically link the result to your profile.
5. Print the acknowledgment slip from the portal.

Remember: You can upload up to two different O’level results (e.g., WAEC and NECO) if using two sittings.

Common Mistakes That Ruin Admission Chances

Many candidates fail admission due to simple errors during results upload. Avoid these pitfalls:

· Uploading the wrong examination type (e.g., claiming NECO when you have WAEC).
· Mismatching names – ensure your name on the O’level result matches your JAMB original results exactly.
· Forgetting to upload both sittings if you require two.
· Waiting until the deadline – JAMB may close the portal without notice.

Double-check everything before submission. A single mistake can lead to “No Admission Granted” despite a high jamb result.

Deadline and Final Advice for 2026 Candidates

JAMB has not yet announced a specific cutoff for 2026, but based on past years, the upload portal typically remains open until mid‑August. However, institutions may set earlier internal deadlines. Visit the nearest JAMB office or an accredited centre immediately.

Do not rely on third‑party agents. Take personal responsibility for your education journey. Uploading your O’level results is the bridge between your jamb result and your dream course. Once done, regularly check your JAMB CAPS for admission status.

JAMB COMMENCE PRINTING OF ORIGINAL RESULTS – 2026 UTME

JAMB COMMENCE PRINTING OF ORIGINAL RESULTS – 2026 UTME

The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has officially commenced the printing of original results for the 2026 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME). This announcement is a major milestone for thousands of candidates who sat for the exam and are now eager to take the next step in their education journey. Unlike the earlier “notification of result” slip, the JAMB original results come with enhanced security features and are the only documents accepted for admission screening.

WHAT THIS MEANS FOR CANDIDATES

If you wrote the 2026 UTME, this development means you can now obtain your official, watermarked result slip directly from JAMB. The JAMB original results are printed on special paper with a barcode and QR code that admission officers scan to confirm authenticity. Without this document, your admission into any Nigerian university, polytechnic, or college of education is at risk. Do not rely on photocopies or online printouts – only the board-issued original slip carries full legal weight.

HOW TO PRINT YOUR JAMB ORIGINAL RESULTS

Printing your JAMB original results is straightforward but requires a visit to an accredited CBT centre or a JAMB state office. You cannot print the original slip from a home printer. Here is the step‑by‑step process:

1. Visit any JAMB‑accredited CBT centre or JAMB office nationwide.
2. Provide your registration number or email address used for the 2026 UTME.
3. Pay a token fee (usually around ₦1,000–₦1,500) for the printing service.
4. The centre will print your original result slip, which includes your photograph, scores, and a security QR code.

You can also request a reprint if your first copy gets damaged or lost, as long as you have your registration details.

WHY YOU NEED THE JAMB ORIGINAL RESULTS FOR ADMISSION

Every tertiary institution in Nigeria insists on JAMB original results during post‑UTME screening and final admission clearance. The reason is simple: it eliminates fake results. Many candidates previously tried to alter notification slips, but the original result’s security features make forgery nearly impossible. If you aspire to secure admission in 2026, do not delay printing. Universities often set strict deadlines for submitting original results, and missing them could close your admission window.

Key Tips for a Smooth Printing Process

To avoid last‑minute stress, follow these practical tips:

· Start early – Do not wait until your chosen school announces its admission list. Lines at CBT centres get longer as deadlines approach.
· Double‑check your details – Ensure your name, date of birth, and passport photograph match your O’Level certificates. Discrepancies can hurt your admission chances.
· Keep multiple copies – Print at least three original copies. Keep one at home, one for school applications, and a spare.
· Beware of scams – Only print at JAMB‑approved centres. Online portals claiming to mail you the original slip are fraudulent.

FINAL THOUGHTS ON YOUR EDUCATION JOURNEY

The ability to print JAMB original results marks a critical step forward in your education and career. With these documents in hand, you can confidently participate in post‑UTME screenings, upload credentials to the JAMB CAPS system, and track your admission status. Remember, education in Nigeria’s tertiary system begins with proper documentation. Act now, secure your JAMB original results, and move one step closer to the university of your choice.

HOW TO CHANGE YOUR INSTITUTION/COURSE FOR UTME 2026

Contrary to some misconceptions, you cannot change your institution from home or via a mobile app. According to the official announcement, candidates must follow this procedure:

1. Visit any JAMB-approved CBT Centre (not just any cybercafé).
2. Request the Change of Institution/Course form.
3. Provide your registration number and choose your new preferred institution or programme.
4. Pay the requisite fee (see cost breakdown below).
5. Confirm the changes before submitting.

Important: Only accredited CBT centres are authorized to effect these changes. Avoid unofficial agents.

HOW MUCH IS JAMB CHANGE OF COURSE & INSTITUTION 2026?

A major question from candidates, highlighted by user TİMİ LÊHÎN on the official thread, is the cost.

Official 2026 Pricing:

· Change of Institution/Course: ₦2,500 (excluding CBT centre service charges).
· CBT Centre Service Fee: Typically ₦500 – ₦1,000.
· Total Estimated Cost: ₦3,000 – ₦3,500.

Note: Prices are subject to slight variations depending on the CBT centre’s location.

EXPERT ADVICE BEFORE YOU MAKE CHANGES (From @OgbuAdaeez)

A viral reply from Adaeez Ogbu offered strategic advice that every candidate should read before proceeding:

“If you’re changing course and institutions, endeavor to stay within the relevant courses. Some courses do not deserve your time and energy.”

What this means for you:

· Relevance is key: Changing from Engineering to Agricultural Science may make sense, but changing from Medicine to a totally unrelated course could hurt your long-term career.
· Avoid "waterlogged" courses: Don’t chase a course just because it has a low cut-off mark. Ensure your new choice aligns with your O’Level subject combinations.

PRINTING OF ORIGINAL UTME RESULT SLIPS

In a follow-up tweet, JAMB announced a critical date for all 2026 candidates:

“Printing of the original 2026 UTME result slip will commence on Monday, 18th May, 2026.” – Fabian Benjamin, Ph.D.

Why this matters: The original result slip (not the photocopied notification slip) is required for:

· Post-UTME registration
· Admission screening
· NYSC registration (future)

Action Point: After changing your institution, visit any CBT centre from May 18th to print your official original result slip.

 FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS (FAQ)

Q: Can I change my institution after printing my original result slip?
A: Yes. The change of institution process is independent. You can make changes now and still print your original slip on May 18th.

Q: How many times can I change my institution?
A: JAMB typically allows multiple changes, but each attempt requires a fresh payment.

Q: Will changing my institution affect my previous score?
A: No. Your UTME score remains exactly the same.

SUMMARY & NEXT STEPS

The UTME Change of Institution process is your second chance to secure admission in 2026. Do not wait until the last minute, as CBT centres may become congested.

Your 3-step checklist:

1. Decide your new course/university (stay relevant).
2. Visit an approved CBT centre with your registration number.
3. Pay the ₦2,500 (plus service fee) and confirm your changes.
4. Return to print your Original Result Slip from May 18th

IGNATIUS AGURU UNIVERSITY COMMENCES POST-UTME REGISTRATION FORM SALE :18 MAY 2026

While official information from the University for the 2026/2027 session is pending, the announcement provides a great opportunity to review the successful hybrid screening model used in 2025. This guide covers everything you need to know, from registration steps to key deadlines, so you're fully prepared for the upcoming admission cycle.

📝 Registration Snapshot for 2026/2027:

· Registration Opens: May 18, 2026
· Registration Closes: June 14, 2026
· Registration Fee: ₦2,000
· UTME Cut-Off Mark: 150 (Minimum score required for eligibility)

---

🌟 An Overview: IAUE's Hybrid Screening System

The cornerstone of IAUE's admission process is its hybrid screening system. For the 2025/2026 session, the university eliminated the traditional Post-UTME computer-based test.

Instead, admission was based 100% on your JAMB UTME score. The screening process, which occurred on-campus from August 18–26, 2025, was solely for the physical verification of credentials, biometric capture, and data validation—not for another examination. Candidates were required to bring originals of their JAMB result slip, O'level results, and the IAUE Post-UTME registration slip for this verification.

This information is crucial as it sets a clear precedent for the upcoming cycle. It underscores that your JAMB score and academic qualifications are the primary determinants for securing admission.

🗓️ Important Dates and Deadlines

While the 2025 dates are in the past, they establish a clear pattern. The 2026 registration portal is scheduled to open on May 18, 2026, and close on June 14, 2026.

Furthermore, the 2025 cycle saw a deadline extension, a common practice to ensure all eligible candidates can complete their applications. The initial close date was extended to Friday, August 29, 2025. While not a reason to delay, it highlights the importance of monitoring the official IAUE website for any updates or changes.

📝 A Step-by-Step Guide to Registration

Based on the procedures from the previous session, here is a detailed breakdown of the registration process for the 2025/2026 cycle. The steps for 2026/2027 are expected to be very similar once the portal opens.

1. Visit the Official Portal: Go to the Ignatius Ajuru University of Education website at www.iaue.edu.ng.
2. Navigate to the Admission Menu: On the homepage, locate the ADMISSION menu and click on “Undergraduate Studies”.
3. Access the Screening Portal: Click on the link for the “2025/2026 UTME/DE Screening Registration Portal”. The year will be updated for the 2026/2027 session.
4. Begin Your Registration: Click on “Register for 2025/2026 Session UTME/DE Screening” and enter your JAMB Registration Number on the page that appears. A page will load with your details.
5. Confirm Your Details:
   · First Choice Candidates: Your details will appear automatically. Confirm the information, then enter a valid phone number and email address.
   · Candidates Who Changed Institution: If you didn't initially choose IAUE as your first choice, click the "UTME Registration" button, fill the form completely, and submit.
6. Check Your Email: After submission, login credentials (username and password) will be sent to your registered email address.
7. Log In and Complete Your Profile: Use the credentials sent to you to log in. You will be prompted to change your password. Once logged in, navigate to the ‘Update Personal Data’ menu and fill in all required fields accurately.
8. Payment of Screening Fee: From the menu on the left, click on ‘Pay Screening Fees’. Generate an invoice and proceed to pay the ₦2,000 registration fee via the secure Paystack platform using your debit card.
9. Finalize Registration: After successful payment, review all the information you have entered once more for accuracy. Then, click on the ‘Submit’ button.
10. Print Your Registration Slip: After submitting, print your registration slip. This is a crucial document, so be sure to save a copy both physically and digitally.

📋 What You Need: Registration Checklist

To ensure a seamless registration, have these items and information ready before you start the online process:

· ✅ JAMB UTME Result Slip: A printed copy of your result for reference.
· ✅ Valid Email Address: An active email address that you can access regularly.

For the 2025/2026 session, there was no computer-based test. Admission was based 100% on JAMB scores, with a physical screening for document verification and biometrics. This model is expected to continue for the 2026/2027 academic session.

Q: I didn't choose IAUE as my first choice. Can I still apply?

Yes, you can. You must first process a Change of Institution on the official JAMB portal to make IAUE your first choice. Once this is completed, you will be eligible to register for the screening exercise.

Q: What is the registration fee for the Post-UTME screening?

The registration fee for the 2025/2026 screening exercise was ₦2,000 only. Please be prepared to pay this amount via the online portal when you register for the upcoming session.

Q: Where can I find the official list of courses offered at IAUE?

The full, official list of approved undergraduate programmes is typically published as a PDF on the university's main website (www.iaue.edu.ng) and its admission portal.

Q: I used "Awaiting Result" during my JAMB registration. What should I do?

You can still participate in the screening. You must complete your registration on the IAUE portal using your awaiting result status. Once your results are released, you must immediately upload them to both your JAMB CAPS portal and the IAUE registration portal.

Q: How will I know the schedule for my physical screening?

IAUE communicates directly with candidates. All registered applicants will receive an email containing the specific details of their screening, including the date, time, batch, and venue. It is vital to use a valid and active email address during registration.

Q: What documents do I need for the physical screening?

You must attend in person with the following original documents: your JAMB result slip, O'level result(s), the printed IAUE Post-UTME registration slip, and a printout of the screening invitation email sent to you.

Q: I have more questions. Who can I contact for help?

💎 Crucial Advice for Prospective Students

Based on past announcements, here is some of the most important advice for all applicants.

1. 🟢 Trust Only Official Channels: Beware of fraudulent individuals or misleading information on social media. All official communications are released on the university's website (www.iaue.edu.ng) and can be verified by contacting the provided support lines.
2. 🔴 Admission Is Free: Be warned that the IAUE management has stated that admission into the university is completely free. Anyone requesting money to secure admission is a fraudster. Do not fall victim to such scams.
3. 🟡 Use Personal Contact Details: When registering, use your own phone number and email address. The university does not allow duplicate phone numbers or emails. Using personal details ensures that you receive all communications directly and on time.
4. 🟢 Monitor Your Email Daily: After registration, check your email inbox (and spam folder) frequently for your screening schedule. This email contains critical information such as your screening date, time, venue, and batch.
5. 🔵 Present Yourself Professionally: All candidates are expected to appear at the screening venue neatly dressed, with well-groomed hair. Any act of misconduct or ill-behavior will lead to automatic disqualification.

🎓 Conclusion: Your Path to IAUE

The journey to securing your place at the Ignatius Ajuru University of Education begins with a well-informed and proactive approach. The shift to a no-CBT, hybrid screening model means that your success hinges on your JAMB performance, the accuracy of your application, and your promptness in completing the physical verification steps.

The official announcement is your signal to start preparing. Gather your documents, note the key dates, and ensure you meet the basic requirements. Once the portal opens on May 18th, follow the step-by-step guide carefully to complete your registration.

We wish you the very best in your journey to becoming a proud student of Ignatius Ajuru University of Education. For the most current updates, always refer to the official IAUE website. Good luck!

JAMB POLICY MEETING 2026.NIGERIA BANS NON CAPS ADMISSION: SET MINIMUM OF 16 YEARS

JAMB Policy Meeting 2026: Nigeria Bans Non-CAPS Admissions, Sets 16-Year Minimum Age & New NCE Rules
Meta Description: The 2026 JAMB Policy Meeting has released new resolutions for Nigeria’s tertiary admissions. Key highlights include illegalising off-CAPS admissions, upholding 16 years as the minimum age, and new NCE programme rules.
Slug: jamb-policy-meeting-2026-nigeria-admissions-resolutions.

Access to higher education in Nigeria must remain fair, transparent, merit-driven, and accountable. These core principles guided the high-level discussions at the 2026 JAMB Policy Meeting on Admissions into Tertiary Institutions, where critical stakeholders from across the education sector gathered to review the nation’s admission framework.

Yesterday, key decisions were reached to strengthen integrity, expand access, and advance reforms. Below are the binding resolutions from the meeting that every candidate, parent, and institution must know.

1. Admissions Outside JAMB CAPS Are Now Illegal

In a decisive move to enforce transparency, the meeting resolved that any admission conducted outside the JAMB Central Admissions Processing System (CAPS) remains illegal and will not be recognised. This means all tertiary institutions must route every admission through CAPS. Candidates should verify their status only via the official JAMB portal.

2. 16 Years Remains the Minimum Age for Admission

The minimum age for admission into tertiary institutions in Nigeria is still 16 years. This applies to universities, polytechnics, colleges of education, and colleges of nursing. Candidates below this age will not be processed for admission, regardless of their UTME scores.

3. New NCE Rule: No UTME, But JAMB Registration Still Required

In a major policy shift for NCE (Nigeria Certificate in Education) programmes:

· Candidates with a minimum of 4 credits will no longer be required to sit for the UTME.
· However, they must still register with JAMB for screening and admission processing through CAPS.
This change is designed to widen access to teacher education while maintaining proper documentation.

4. Minimum Admission Scores (Cut-Off Marks) Confirmed

After thorough deliberation, the following minimum scores were upheld:

· Universities & Colleges of Nursing: 150
· Polytechnics & other Monotechnics: 100

Institutions are free to adopt higher scores based on their competitiveness, but no institution may go below these benchmarks.

5. Strengthening Inclusive Education for Persons Living With Disabilities (PWDs)

The meeting reaffirmed a commitment to inclusive education. Special interventions for Persons Living With Disabilities will be deepened, including:

· Targeted support during UTME registration and testing.
· Improved accessibility features at CBT centres.
· Dedicated admission quotas and assistive technologies.

6. Digital Adoption: CBT, AI, and Emerging Technologies

The Federal Government is accelerating the adoption of digital technologies across the education sector. Key focus areas include:

· Full-scale Computer Based Testing (CBT) for all JAMB exams.
· Integration of Artificial Intelligence (AI) for proctoring and fraud detection.
· Use of emerging tech to streamline admission processes on CAPS.

7. Curbing Examination Malpractice

Verification and supervision systems will be significantly strengthened. This includes biometric authentication, real-time CCTV monitoring in CBT centres, and stricter sanctions for candidates and staff caught engaging in malpractice. The goal is to protect the integrity of the entire admission value chain.

8. From Policy to Implementation: Accountability Measures

Finally, stakeholders reaffirmed their commitment to strengthening accountability. Resolutions will not remain mere documents. Monitoring teams will be deployed, and institutions that violate the rules (especially regarding off-CAPS admissions or illegal age waivers) will face sanctions.

Final Thoughts for Candidates and Parents

If you are applying for admission into any Nigerian tertiary institution in 2026, remember:

· Insist on CAPS. No CAPS, no valid admission.
· Ensure you meet the age requirement (16 years by the time of admission).
· For NCE applicants with 4 credits, skip UTME but don’t skip JAMB registration.
· Target your UTME score based on your institution type (150 for university/nursing, 100 for polytechnic).

The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has released the official JAMB CUT-OFF MARK 2026 following its policy meeting held today at its headquarters in Abuja. The announcement, which came after a unanimous decision by admission officers, sets clear benchmarks for tertiary institutions across Nigeria and introduces a strict merit-only admission policy.

Universities 150
Polytechnics 100
Colleges of Nursing 150

✅ Important: Institutions may raise their respective cut-off marks above the national minimum, but they cannot go below the approved JAMB CUT-OFF MARK 2026.

Merit-Only Admission: What You Must Know
In a significant policy shift, the board stated that the 2026 admission process shall be based only on merit. Any other form of “acquisition”—including financial inducement, influence peddling, or backdoor arrangements—will not be tolerated.

This means that meeting the JAMB CUT-OFF MARK 2026 is no longer enough if you rely on anything other than your genuine UTME score and subsequent screening performance. Candidates are advised to disregard any agent promising admission below the set JAMB CUT-OFF MARK 2026 or through “special assistance.

---

Breakdown by Institution Type

Universities – JAMB CUT-OFF MARK 2026: 150

All federal, state, and private universities must adhere to a minimum JAMB CUT-OFF MARK 2026 of 150. Competitive courses (Law, Medicine, Engineering, Accounting) may require scores significantly higher than 150, but no candidate with a score below 150 can be considered.

Polytechnics – JAMB CUT-OFF MARK 2026: 100

The JAMB CUT-OFF MARK 2026 for polytechnics is set at 100. This lower benchmark aims to expand access to technical and vocational education. However, popular polytechnics may still demand scores above 100.

Colleges of Nursing – JAMB CUT-OFF MARK 2026: 150

Nursing colleges share the same JAMB CUT-OFF MARK 2026 of 150 as universities, reflecting the rigorous academic standards required for healthcare training.

---

Why Merit-Only Changes the Game

For years, some candidates with scores below the JAMB CUT-OFF MARK 2026 gained admission through state of origin, catchment area, or financial influence. The 2026 policy closes those loopholes. Now, only candidates who meet or exceed the JAMB CUT-OFF MARK 2026 based on their own performance will be admitted—regardless of connection or background.

Official statement from the JAMB admission officer:
“No form of acquisition outside merit will be entertained. The JAMB CUT-OFF MARK 2026 is the only gateway.”

---

What Candidates Should Do Next

1. Check your UTME score against the JAMB CUT-OFF MARK 2026 for your chosen institution type.
2. Review your institution’s specific cut-off – many schools will publish a higher threshold than the national JAMB CUT-OFF MARK 2026.
3. Prepare for post-UTME screenings – merit-only means post-UTME performance also counts.
4. Avoid fraudsters – no one can change the JAMB CUT-OFF MARK 2026 or admit you below it.

---

Note: Candidate who are checking their results are expected to use the same SIM card they usedbin generating their profile code for effective results check.
Here’s a detailed explanation (expatiation) of the text you provided, clarifying the process and correcting likely typographical errors.
The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) is the Nigerian body responsible for conducting the Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) for candidates seeking admission into universities, polytechnics, and colleges of education.

The text announces the release of the first batch of 2026 UTME results. However, it contains a clear error: “has not yesterday the 17th of April 2026 announced” – this should read “has on yesterday, the 17th of April 2026, announced” or simply “has released”. The intended meaning is that as of April 17, 2026, results for the first batch of candidates are now available

HOW TO CHECK YOUR JAMB RESULT (Step‑by‑Step Explanation)
The method described uses an SMS‑based system, which is JAMB’s official and primary result checking channel. This is designed to be simple and accessible even without internet access.

STEP 1 – Use the same phone number (SIM) you used for registration
· You must send the SMS from the identical mobile number that you used when you generated your profile code during JAMB registration.
· If you use a different SIM, the system will not recognise you and will not send your result.

STEP 2 – Compose and send the SMS
· Open the messaging app on your phone.
· Type the keyword exactly as: UTMERESULT (all uppercase, no spaces).
· Send this message to either 55019 or 66019 – both are JAMB’s official service codes.

STEP 3 – Ensure sufficient airtime

· The service costs ₦50 (fifty Nigerian Naira).
· This fee will be deducted automatically from your main airtime balance (not from any data or bonus credit).
· So before sending, confirm you have at least ₦50 of regular airtime on that SIM.

STEP 4 – Wait for the response

· After sending, wait a few minutes.
· Your result will be delivered directly to you as a text message (SMS) on the same phone.
· The message will show your scores for each subject, usually in a simple format like: “English – 65, Mathematics – 70, Physics – 58, Chemistry – 62”.

IMPORTANT NOTES (to avoid common mistakes)

· Do not add any extra words or spaces – only “UTMERESULT”. Adding “to”, “for”, or your registration number will cause an error.
· Network delays – Sometimes SMS replies take longer than a few minutes due to network congestion. If you don’t get a reply after 10–15 minutes, you can resend (but you may be charged again).
· Result not yet released – If you send before your specific batch result is uploaded, you might get a message like “Result not available” or “Processing in progress”. Wait for official confirmation that your batch is out.
· Failed result – If you receive a score like “0” or “Cancelled”, it could mean malpractice was detected. In that case, you should visit a JAMB office for clarification.

WHAT IF THE SMS METHOD FAILS?

While the text describes only the SMS method
· USSD code (e.g., *55019#) – but the SMS method is often the fastest.
The SMS method remains the most reliable for candidates in areas with poor internet connectivity
